About
My name is Gabriel (Gabe) Velez
I am a proud half-Colombian great grandson of “Mister Coffee.” This great grandfather, Manuel Mejía, was the gerente of the Colombian coffee federation in the 1930s and 1940s and sparked my interest in coffee through family stories and photos in my grandmother Pollo’s house growing up. I am also a father of three young ones (which demands constant caffeination), an academic (a developmental psychologist), and a constantly developing person myself. While I openly admit to drinking all coffee - which in the past has include some pretty terrible cups of boiled grains in the Ecuadorian jungle - I enjoy constantly learning more about the process from farm to my cup and exploring new brews, shops, and experiences.
About
My name is Saúl Lopez
I was born and raised in Milwaukee. I am proud of my Mexican roots and grew up drinking coffee with pan dulce at home. I started getting “into” coffee when he was in college and started visiting different coffee shops in the area. I am also a poet and graduate student in education, and even written poems about coffee! My drink of choice is a cortado. I really enjoy visiting coffee shops across the city.
