New(ish) Spots is a space where we get to share about coffee shops that are new to us. In this post, Saul recalls a coffee shop tucked away in the historic brewery.

With all this heat, I can't help but long for the cold. Well, not really, but it is hard not to remember those frigid January mornings where the temperatures were well below 0. Why evoke the looming cold? Back in January, I stumbled upon a coffee I didn’t know existed. But that I think is worth checking out, it is called Best Place Coffee and Sprits.

While on my search for coffee one morning near the Fiserv I saw Best Place pop up in Google Maps. And let me tell you, I was blown away. From the outside, the brick building is reminiscent of the past. And once you go inside, you are immediately transported to a 19th century German tavern.

I haven’t mentioned this yet, but Best Place is located in the Historic Pabst Brewery. A name associated with the history of Milwaukee. Pabst has produced some of the most iconic beers such as Schlitz and Pabst Blue Ribbon. I wish I had more knowledge to share, but if you want to learn more about the history of the brewery check it out here!

Back to the coffee now. Beyond an amazing ambiance, Best Place Coffee and Spirits offers a variety of drinks that will make you want to stay and linger to admire the architecture, Pabst inspired decor, and beautiful stained glass. In short, if you want to journal and have a nice chat, this is your spot. But you can also bring your laptop, like I did and spend your time working. In all honesty, it is an experience to be in such a historic place, and the coffee also packs a punch. The cortado was strong, understated, and crafted with care.

It is hard to put into words, the beauty of this coffee shop. You simply have to visit and experience it yourself. Out of the coffee shops I have visited this year, this has been my favorite so far.
